This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometres per hour are expected. At 5 a.m., Tropical Depression Nangka was estimated to be about 90 kilometres north-northeast of Hong Kong Observatory (near 23.1 degrees north 114.4 degrees east) and is forecast to move north-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour moving further into inland Guangdong and weaken gradually. Local winds are west to southwesterly, occasionally strong on high ground. Nangka's rainbands are affecting the territory. As Nangka moves further inland, its threat to Hong Kong is expected to diminish gradually. The Observatory will consider cancelling the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 shortly.
